It’s showing just 1% charge and no lightning icon on, but otherwise works for browsing. What gives?

No, that’s a 3 month-old cord, still works particularly on PC. The unit just doesn’t show charge progress, but I did a 3-lap stint on Real Racing 3 (intensive on a phone that old) and it still kept up.
The thing was that whenever I plugged in on sleep, the big battery icon comes up empty. It doesn’t show percentage charge on the lock screen.

Hardly. Literally whole morning it was working fine, one percent loss every five minutes. Now it’s stuck at 1% indicated and I’m not sure if it’s real. No lightning icon either.
